I haven't had time to do much on the family history since we returned from our Indiana trip in the spring--I've just been too busy with the baby (Lizzie just turned 1! Happy Birthday, Princess!) and with the dissertation (which is finally coming along). But Shayna wanted a couple of changes to the website for security reasons, so I thought I should mention them here.
On the "Links" page, there are now links to ancestry charts for both Shayna and myself. Both of these are also now password-protected. If you're interested in looking at them, send us an email and we'll send you an access code. Basically, with the rise of identity theft and a concern for privacy, we wanted to make the charts available to family, but keep that personal information from being easily accessible to people trolling for personal data. For the same reason, we may occasionally change the access codes. If your code stops working, that's probably why. Email us and we'll be happy to send you the updated code. Sorry to add the extra hassle, but such is the world we live in...unfortunately.
The other changes are to the blog. If you look on the left side of the screen, you'll see a new feature titled "Get new posts sent directly to your email account." Just enter your email address in the box, and whenever we make a new post, it'll be emailed directly to you. It's a great way to keep up with us, especially since we don't post often. I also added a link on the left side to the main page of our website.

In the beginning
Well, I decided that in addition to our family history website, it might be interesting to keep a blog covering not only what we've learned, but the research we've done, where we've been, and who we've met along the way. I have no idea how often we'll post here, especially since we don't have much time for research right now, so please be patient with us.
